Who is eligible to register a .eu domain?
Citizens of an EU or EEA member state regardless of where they live, non-citizens resident in the EU/EEA, and organisations, businesses and undertakings established there. Eligibility is declared at registration and must remain true for the domain to be kept.
What happened to .eu domains after Brexit?
UK-based registrants lost eligibility when the UK left the EU, and non-compliant domains were ultimately revoked by EURid. UK citizens can hold .eu again only via EU/EEA residence, and UK companies via an establishment in a member state — worth arranging before registering, not after.
