Who is eligible to register a .eu domain?
Citizens of an EU or EEA member state qualify no matter where in the world they live. So do non-citizens resident in the EU/EEA, and organisations, businesses and undertakings established there. You declare eligibility at registration, and it has to stay true if you want to keep the domain.
What happened to .eu domains after Brexit?
When the UK left the EU, UK-based registrants lost eligibility, and EURid revoked the non-compliant domains in the end. A UK citizen can hold .eu again only through EU/EEA residence; a UK company only through an establishment inside a member state. Arrange that before you register, not afterwards.
For trade across Europe, does .eu beat a national extension?
